MOBILE, Ala. – The Benedict College women's tennis team competed in the second SIAC Roundup in Mobile, Ala., dropping all six matches.
On Wednesday, Benedict dropped a close 4-3 match to Tuskegee, and then fell to Albany State 4-1. On Thursday, Benedict lost another close 4-3 match to Savannah State, before falling to Clark Atlanta 5-2. The Lady Tigers wrapped up the roundup event on Friday, falling to Edward Waters 5-2 and to roundup host Spring Hill 6-1.
Valerie Essome had a strong showing in the roundup, going 5-1 at No. 1 singles, including pulling off a victory in a tiebreaker - 6-1, 2-6 (10-8) - over Clark Atlanta's Janay Brittain.
Tanatswa Musabaeka went 4-2 overall, including a tiebreaker victory over Savannah State's Madeleine Nolan, 2-6, 6-2 (10-5).
Benedict wraps up conference play at 1-12 overall and 1-11 in the SIAC.
