Columbia College Takes 4-3 Victory Over Lady Tigers

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Columbia College took a 4-3 victory over Benedict College in a non-conference women's tennis match on Friday on the campus of Columbia College.
 
Benedict won the top three singles matches. Columbia College took the other three singles matches over the shorthanded Lady Tigers by default, and won the doubles point.
 
Valerie Essome defeated Natalia Diaz 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Tanatswa Musabaeka took a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Ana Ribeiro at No. 2 singles and Carmen Kpadonou took a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Aniya Sims at No. 3 singles.
 
Benedict will have a rematch with Columbia College on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Richland County Tennis Center for Senior Day. The Lady Tigers will honor three seniors – Essome, Musabaeka and Jordan Tanksley.
