ATLANTA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2026-27 preseason all-conference men's basketball teams, individual honors and predicted order of finish on Tuesday, featuring two returning players from the 2025-26 All-SIAC lineup.
Benedict junior guard
Malachi Chavis was named to the preseason third team. Chavis is Benedict's leading returning scorer. He averaged 7.8 points per game during the 2025-26 season. He was also second on the team with 29 made 3-pointers.
The Tigers were picked to finish eighth in the 15-team league.
Preseason honors are as voted by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.
