Lady Tigers Rout Clark Atlanta, 92-65

Box Score COLUMBIA, S.C. – Kadeeja Vaughn scored a season-high 21 points to help lead the Benedict College Lady Tigers to a 92-65 victory over Clark Atlanta University on Monday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.

Vaughn scored 15 of her points in the second half as Benedict pulled away in the second half to cruise over the defending SIAC champions.

Benedict improved to 13-7 overall and 7-2 in the SIAC. Clark Atlanta fell to 13-5 overall and 6-2 in the SIAC.

Santera Grooms added a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Britenique Harrison chipped in with 12 points.

Benedict had an eight-point lead at the half, 41-33, but started to pull away in the second half. The Lady Tigers scored nine straight points early in the second half, getting field goals from Grooms, Harrison and Jessica Ellison and a 3-pointer by Jasmine Stubbs, to build a 52-35 lead and Benedict maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way.

Clark Atlanta cut the lead to 72-61 with 6:38 left to play, but the Lady Tigers went on another big run, scoring 11 straight points for an 83-61 lead with 3:16 left to play.

Jomanda Smalls led Clark Atlanta with 15 points.

Benedict continues its five-game home stand on Saturday, taking on Paine at 1 p.m.
