COLUMBIA, S.C. – Florida Tech pounded out 31 hits and hit six home runs to sweep a doubleheader from Benedict College in the Tigers' baseball home opener on Saturday.
Florida Tech won the first game 16-3 and took the second game 17-1.
Benedict trailed 2-1 after three innings in the first game, but then the Panthers scored 14 runs over the final four innings, including 10 in the final two.
Mitchell Dixon had a solo home run in the fourth inning for the Tigers, now 1-4 on the season.

Kevin Davis walked, went to second on a single by Dixon, and scored when the Panthers dropped a fly ball to center field by
Daniel Young.
