COLUMBIA, S.C. -- 
Tandreanna Conyers hit a pair of solo home runs and 
Kelsey James added a two-run homer to help lift the Benedict College softball team to a 6-2 victory over Edward Waters College in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday at King Park.
Edward Waters hit two home runs in the second game to take a 5-3 victory and split the doubleheader. Benedict moved to 14-18 overall. Edward Waters is now 11-22.
Conyers led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo shot to center field. 
Erika Dargan followed with a triple and came home on 
Sharik Woods' groundout. Edward Waters cut the lead to 2-1 with a run in the second inning. Conyers led off the third inning with her second solo home run over the left field fence.
Edward Waters cut the lead to 3-2 in the sixth inning, scoring an unearned run. Benedict pushed the lead to 6-2 in the bottom of the sixth. Dargan and 
Starkeira Daniel hit back-to-back singles. Dargan scored on an error and James followed with a homer to left field.
In the second game, Edward Waters scored first with an unearned run in the second inning. A solo home run in the third inning made it 2-0. A two-run homer in the fourth made it 4-0.
Benedict's bats came alive in the sixth inning as 
Torcealon Kelly tripled and 
Jordyn Saxton followed with an RBI double to score Benedict's first run. Saxton scored on a ground out by Conyers. A single and an Edward Waters throwing error by Dargan allowed 
Amari Lawson to score and make it 4-3. Edward Waters added a run in the seventh.
Benedict returns to action on Friday at 2 p.m. with a single game against Claflin, with a doubleheader on Saturday.
