COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College softball team dropped a pair of conference games to Clark Atlanta University on Thursday afternoon at Tiger Field.
The Lady Tigers and Lady Panthers had to resume a game that was started on March 13, but was halted due to darkness with Benedict leading 3-1 through four innings. Clark Atlanta rallied from a 7-2 deficit to win the game 9-8 in eight innings. Clark Atlanta then cruised to a 10-0 victory in five innings in the second contest.
Benedict falls to 21-21 overall and 10-10 in the SIAC. Clark Atlanta improves to 16-22 overall and 12-8 in the SIAC.
When the first game resumed, Clark Atlanta added a run in the top of the fifth to cut the lead to 3-2, but the Lady Tigers pushed across four runs in the bottom of the fifth for a 7-2 lead.

Sharik Woods had a double to bring home two more runs. Woods came home on a groundout.
Clark Atlanta scored two runs in the sixth, then tied the game with three runs without the benefit of a hit in the top of the seventh. Benedict issued five walks, incuding two intentionally, then scored the tying run on a wild pitch.
Clark Atlanta took the lead with two runs in the top of the eighth inning. Benedict added a run in the bottom of the eighth on a triple by
Torcealon Kelly, who came home on a groundout by
Taylor Roberts.
Benedict had just three hits and committed three errors in the second contest.
Benedict is back in action on Friday with a non-conference doubleheader against Vorhees starting at 1 p.m. at Tiger Field.
