Aaron Bryant added 16, but Florida Tech outscored Benedict 31-9 at the free-throw line and went on to take a 91-77 victory on Saturday.
Benedict falls to 0-2 on the season. Florida Tech moves to 1-1.
Florida Tech built as much as a 16-point lead in the first half and had a 47-33 lead at the half.
The Panthers took their largest lead, 69-45, midway through the second half. The Tigers trimmed the lead to 87-75 with 39 seconds left in the game.
Florida Tech went 31-of-38 at the free-throw line as the Tigers were whistled for 25 fouls, including a pair of technical fouls.
Benedict shot 44.4 percent (28-of-63) from the floor, and made 52.2 percent (12-of-23) from beyond the 3-point line.
Davante Wiltshire added 12 points and had a team-high nine assists.
Romello Jones chipped in 11 points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
Benedict will play its first home game of the season on Thursday with an exhibition game against Allen University at 7 p.m.
