COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's tennis team opened the 2018 season with a 7-1 victory over Converse College on Thursday at the Columbia Tennis Center.
The Lady Tigers swept the doubles competition for a 3-0 lead.
Caroline Nguy and
Daniella Rios won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles;
Karla Flores and
Viktoria Izakova won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles and
Juliet Campbell and
Adrienne Milow won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Benedict took four of the five matches that were completed. Flores won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2, while Izakova won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3, Rios won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4 and Milow won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 6.
Benedict competes at the USC Sumter Invitational on Friday and Saturday, competing against The Citadel, Coker, USC-Sumter and Belmont Abbey.
