In the second game, the Lady Tigers rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning on a hit by Tandreanna Conyers to take a 7-6 victory over Kentucky State.

Benedict improves to 13-6 overall and 3-4 in the SIAC.

Against LeMoyne-Owen, Erika Dargan walked in the first inning, stole second, advanced to third on an error and scored on a wild pitch. The Lady Magicians tied the game in the bottom of the first getting their only two hits of the game – a triple and a single.

Benedict took the lead for good with two runs in the fifth inning. Starkeira Daniel had an RBI triple and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Sharik Woods. Benedict added a pair of insurance runs in the seventh on a two-run homer by Daniel.

Against Kentucky State, Benedict got on the board first with a run in the first inning without the benefit of a hit and two Lady Thorobred errors. Kentucky State tied the game with a run in the second inning. KSU took a 3-1 lead with two runs in the fifth inning, but Benedict regained the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Torcealon Kelly singled and later scored on an error, while Dargan and Daniel had RBI singles.

Woods led off the sixth inning with a triple and later scored on a sacrifice bunt by De'Maya Davis to make it 5-3.

Kentucky State scored three runs in the top of the seventh on three hits and three Benedict errors to take a 6-5 lead. In the bottom of the seventh, Dargan hit a one-out single and Daniel reached base when she was hit by a pitch. After a double steal, Conyers hit a single to left field to score Dargan and Daniel and give Benedict the victory.
