COLUMBIA, S.C. --
Tandreanna Conyers went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to help lead the Benedict College Lady Tigers to an 11-5 victory over Edward Waters College in a non-conference softball game on Wednesday to earn a doubleheader split.
Edward Waters took the first game of the doubleheader 12-0 in five innings. Benedict goes to 17-9 on the season.
After going scoreless in the first contest, the Lady Tigers came out in the second game and scored a run in the first inning.
Erika Dargan walked and later came home on a sacrifice fly by
Starkeira Daniel.
Edward Waters scored two runs in the second inning to take a brief lead. The Lady Tigers came back with seven runs in the second inning to take the lead for good.
Brianna Billie had a two-RBI double and Conyers hit a two-run single.
The score remained 8-2 until Edward Waters scored three runs in the sixth to cut the lead to 8-5. Benedict added three insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth. Conyers had an RBI double and Daniel had an RBI single. An Edward Waters error allowed another Benedict run to score.
Benedict had just four hits and committed two errors in the first game.
The Lady Tigers are back in action on Friday, April 6, when they start a three-game conference series against Paine College with a single game at 2 p.m.
