Tigers Complete Three-Game Sweep Over Morehouse

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Benedict College baseball team swept a three-game conference series over Morehouse College.

Benedict opened the series with an 8-6 victory on Friday afternoon. Christopher Harper hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning to break a 6-6 tie and Myles Snype held Morehouse hitless over the final four innings.

On Saturday, the Tigers swept a doubleheader, winning 12-1 and 16-1.

Benedict improves to 13-9 overall and 6-3 in the SIAC. Morehouse drops to 10-20 overall and 1-7 in the SIAC.

In Saturday's 12-1 victory, Harper had another home run, a solo shot in the fifth inning, while Joseph Macaluso hit a three-run homer in the third inning. Jacob Lagos went the distance for the mound win, scattering just three hits over seven innings.

The Tigers kept the hot bats going in the second game, pounding out 19 hits. David White Jr. hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning. Andrew McCoy went 4-for-5 with four RBIs. Michael Garner had three hits and White drove in three runs.

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday with a home game against USC-Beaufort at 2 p.m.
