FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers rallied with four runs in the sixth inning to take a 5-2 victory over Fort Valley State in a SIAC softball contest on Friday.
Brianna Billie led off the sixth inning with a single and advanced to second on an error. She moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on a bunt by
Erika Dargan to tie the score at 2-2. Another Fort Valley State error allowed two more Benedict runs to score and
De'Maya Davis had an RBI double to wrap up the scoring.
Starkeira Daniel went 1-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Lady Tigers. Davis went 1-for-2 with a RBI, while Dargan went 1-for-3 with a RBI.
Cherica Pye allowed just two hits to pick up the pitching win.
Benedict, now 22-12 overall and 9-9 in the SIAC, will play at Clark Atlanta in a single game on Saturday to wrap up the regular season.
