COLUMBIA, S.C. – Clark Atlanta jumped out to an early lead and held on for an 87-73 victory over Benedict in a SIAC men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
Clark Atlanta scored the first seven points of the game and never trailed, building the lead to as much as 21 points in the first half.
Clark Atlanta improves to 8-7 overall and 5-3 in the SIAC. Benedict falls to 2-13 overall and 1-7 in the SIAC.
Romello Jones led the Tigers with 24 points, hitting six 3-pointers.
Jalen Shuman added 12 points,
Darius Williams scored 11 points and
DeShawn Graham chipped in 10 points.
The Tigers are back in action on Monday, hosting seventh-ranked Morehouse at 7p.m.
