TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Benedict College Tigers saw an 18-point first-half lead slip away as Tuskegee staged a big second-half rally to take a 71-57 victory on Saturday afternoon.
Benedict had a 33-15 lead with less than a minute left in the first half before Tuskegee hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to cut the lead to 33-18 at the half.
In the second half, Tuskegee outshot Benedict 70.8 percent to 28.6 percent and outscored the Tigers 53-24. Tuskegee turned the game around with a 17-2 run to take a 57-46 lead with 4:17 remaining in the contest.
Romello Jones led the Tigers with 15 points.
Davante Wiltshire added 13 points and
DeShawn Graham chipped in 12 points.
Benedict falls to 2-11 overall and 1-5 in the SIAC. Tuskegee improves to 8-5 overall and 4-1 in the SIAC.
Benedict returns to action on Monday, traveling to Miles College.
