COLUMBIA, S.C. – Winston-Salem State took advantage of 27 hits and 11 Benedict errors to sweep a softball doubleheader against the Lady Tigers on Thursday afternoon at Tiger Field.
Winston-Salem State won the first game 14-2 in six innings, then won the second game 15-6.
The Rams (17-3) hit seven home runs in the two games, knocking out five in the first game.
For Benedict (11-11),
Taylor Roberts had a solo home run in the first game, and
Starkeira Daniel had a solo shot in the second game.
Benedict returns to action this weekend with a road trip to Albany, Ga. for a three-game conference series against Albany State.
