ALBANY, Ga. – Albany State scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally past Benedict 7-6 in a SIAC softball game on Sunday afternoon.
Albany State completed the three-game conference series sweep to improve to 13-21 overall and 10-2 in the SIAC. Benedict falls to 11-14 overall and 4-5 in the SIAC.
The Golden Rams scored four runs in the second inning for a 4-0 lead. Benedict answered with three runs in the fourth as
Starkeira Daniel had an RBI single, and
Miyah Rogers brought in two runs with a double to center field. The Lady Tigers took a 6-4 lead in the fifth with a three-run homer by
Marshallnae Bell.
Albany State scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth on a pair of doubles.
The Lady Tigers return to action on Tuesday with a road trip to Orangeburg to face Claflin.
