COLUMBIA, SC -- Marshallnae Bell dominated in her start in the circle Friday, as she led the Lady Tigers in a 4-1 victory over Clark Atlanta in a SIAC softball contest at Tiger Field.
Bell threw a complete game, striking out four while allowing no earned runs and four walks.
The scoring got started in the top of the second, as Clark Atlanta's Chase Gray-Still hit an RBI single to left field that drove in Lakimia Terrell to put the Panthers on top 1-0. Later in the fifth, Amari Lawson reached on a throwing error by the catcher, as the error allowed De'Maya Davis to score and tie the game. Later in the inning, Lawson would score from second on a passed ball that would put the Lady Tigers up 2-1. The Lady Tigers would go on to score two more runs that inning on a single by Zanila Booker and a single by Bell.
The Lady Tigers advance to 12-16 (5-5 SIAC) on the year, while the Panthers drop to 8-15 (5-5 SIAC) on the season.
Bell's dominant outing netted her the win, improving her record to 8-7. Skylar Smith picked up the loss for the Panthers, dropping to 3-7 on the season.
The series continues Saturday afternoon with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at Tiger Field as the two teams complete the weekend's three-game series.
