COLUMBIA, S.C. – Lincoln University (Pa.) scored three runs in the top of the ninth to rally past the Benedict College Tigers 11-10 in a non-conference baseball game on Friday afternoon at Tiger Field.
Benedict falls to 3-2 overall, while Lincoln improves to 1-5 overall.

After Lincoln put up three runs in the sixth inning, Benedict battled right back to take a 9-8 lead heading into the ninth inning. With two outs and a runner on third, Lincoln perfectly executed a suicide squeeze play by bunting down the third base line, tying the game up. The Lions added two more runs to take an 11-9 lead.
The Tigers fought to load the bases with two outs.
Myquerris McGrier walked to bring in
TreVohn Jeffrey from third base, closing the gap to 11-10. Harper then came to the plate with the bases loaded and a chance to potentially tie or win the game for Benedict. Harper lifted a fly ball to deep right field, but with the wind blowing in, the right fielder caught the ball to end the game.
Benedict will host the Lincoln University Lions on Saturday, with the first game of a doubleheader starting at noon.
