COLUMBIA, S.C. – Errors proved to be too much to overcome as the Benedict College Lady Tigers fall to the Albany State Golden Rams, 13-2, on Sunday afternoon in SIAC softball action.

Benedict falls to 2-10 overall and 1-2 in the SIAC. Albany State improves to 3-14 overall and 2-1 in the SIAC.

Taylor McNeal and Cherica Pye collected one hit each in the game, while Brianna Crosby homered for the Lady Tigers.

The Golden Rams scored seven unearned runs in the second inning and added two more in the third to take a 9-0 lead. Benedict added two runs in the fourth, including a home run to left field by Crosby. Albany State scored three runs in the fifth to take a 13-2 lead.

Benedict will participate in the SIAC Softball Crossover in Jasper, Ala., beginning Thursday. Benedict will open the crossover against Tuskegee University at 1:15 p.m.
