COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict Tigers placed five players in double figures to take a 98-75 victory over Allen University on Saturday afternoon.
Timothy Bing Jr. led the Tigers with 19 points, while 
Tyrese Mapp and 
Malachi McCoy had 14 points each. 
Tajh Green had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while 
Jayden Lockett chipped in 10 points.
Benedict improves to 6-1. Allen falls to 4-3.
The Tigers used a late run in the first half to take control and never looked back. The game was tied 28-28 with 6:49 left in the first half when Benedict outscored Allen 23-9 the rest of the way. Benedict scored the final 10 points of the first half as Mapp had a 3-pointer and fast-break dunk, and 
Jerome Bivins added a 3-pointer.
Benedict used another 10-0 run early in the second half to build a 22-point lead, 67-45, with 13:54 remaining. The lead grew to as much as 32 points with 8:35 remaining.
The Tigers out-rebounded the Yellow Jackets 52-35.
Benedict is back in action on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Albany State.
