COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Tigers placed six players in double figures and scored a season-high 111 points as they cruised over Edward Waters 111-68 for their 10
th straight victory on Saturday afternoon in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
The Tigers connected on a season-best 16 3-pointers.
Malachi McCoy led the scoring with 16 points, while
Tyrese Mapp added 15 points, and
Tajh Green and
Calvin McCutcheon had 14 points each.
Brandon Beidleman scored 13 points and
Timothy Bing Jr. scored 12 points on four 3-pointers.
Benedict, now 11-3 on the season, dominated on the boards, out-rebounding Edward Waters 59-35. McCoy had a season-high 15 rebounds, while Green also had a double-double with 11 rebounds. Edward Waters falls to 6-8.
The Tigers jumped out to an early 19-2 lead and never let up. Benedict had a 31-point lead, 60-29, at the half and had at least a 30-point lead the entire second half.
Benedict travels to take on Morehouse next Saturday. The next home game will be Jan. 22 against Savannah State.
