FAIRFIELD, Ala. – Miles College pounded out 38 hits in a pair of games to sweep a SIAC doubleheader on Saturday.
Miles won the first game 25-8, then took the second game 21-7. The Tigers fall to 3-23 overall and 2-13 in the SIAC. Miles improves to 17-9 overall and 8-1 in the SIAC.
Four Benedict pitchers gave up 22 hits and nine walks in the first game.
Jorge Baez had an RBI double and a two-run homer to lead the Tigers. The Tigers used five pitchers in the second game, and they combined to give up 16 hits and 10 walks.
Ryan Chesney went 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBIs, smacking a pair of RBI singles and a two-run homer.
Benedict and Miles will play the third game of the conference series on Sunday.
