FAIRFIELD, Ala. – Miles College swept the conference series against Benedict with an 18-8 victory over the Benedict College Tigers on Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Bears faced five Benedict pitchers and recorded 15 hits, 12 walks, one wild pitch, one hit batsman and struck out only once. The Tigers also committed four errors, which led to six unearned runs.
Ryan Chesney went 3-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the Tigers at the plate. He drove in a pair of runs with a seventh-inning single.
Bradon O'Connor went 2-for-5 with one run scored and two stolen bases.
Benedict falls to 3-24 overall and 2-14 in the SIAC. Miles improves to 18-9 overall and 11-1 in the SIAC.
The Tigers travel to Atlanta to face Morehouse in a three-game conference series next weekend.
