ALBANY, Ga. – Albany State University swept a SIAC baseball doubleheader on Saturday.
The Golden Rams won the first game 15-5, as they held the Tigers to five hits. The Golden Rams held the Tigers to just four hits in the second game in a 23-3 victory.
Benedict falls to 5-32 overall and 2-22 in the SIAC. Albany State improves to 23-8 overall and 22-3 in the SIAC.
Ryan Chesney had a solo home run in the third inning of the first game.
Jacob Hall had an RBI single to give Benedict a 3-2 lead in the top of the fourth.
Bradon O'Connor had an RBI single in the seventh.
In the second game, O'Connor went 2-for-3 with an RBI single.
Christian Inyang had an RBI double in the second inning. Benedict used five pitchers and gave up 21 hits, walked six and hit four batters.
The Tigers and Golden Rams are scheduled to play the third game in the series Saturday, weather permitting.
