FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Benedict College softball team completed a conference series sweep over Fort Valley State with a 9-0 victory on Sunday.
Benedict scored one run in the second inning on an RBI double by
T'Yannah Lake. The Lady Tigers then pounded out seven runs in the fourth inning on seven hits and one FVSU error.
Lake had an RBI single, then
Miyah Rogers followed with a two-run double.
Ariana Ellis scored Rogers on a single.
Deyonce Lewis drove home a pair of runs on a double, and came home on a single by
Chesney Miller. Rogers had an RBI triple in the fifth inning to close out the scoring.
Keirra Evans picked up the pitching win, allowing just two hits.
Benedict improves to 23-14 overall and 7-4 in the SIAC. Fort Valley State falls to 9-21 overall and 2-10 in the SIAC.
Benedict travels to Winston-Salem State on Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader.
