ATLANTA, Ga. (January 31, 2023) – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its men's and women's basketball Players of the Week.

For women, Kailyn Nash (Central State) was named Player of the Week, while Malayah Montgomery (Benedict) earned Newcomer of the Week.

For men, Kelvin Allen (Lane) was named Player of the Week, alongside teammate, Radarious Washington (Lane) who earned Newcomer of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.

Malayah Montgomery continues to make a major impact for the Lady Tigers since joining the team. Benedict went 2-1 last week and has gone 6-1 since the grad school transfer joined the team. Last week, she averaged 13 points and 6.7 rebounds in three games. She scored a season-high 16 points and a team-high seven rebounds as Benedict knocked the SIAC East Division leader Savannah State by 21 points.
