COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Benedict College Tigers fell to the College of Saint Rose, 14-4, in a non-conference baseball game on Thursday afternoon at Tiger Field.
Benedict drops to 6-6 overall, while Saint Rose improves to 4-8 overall.
Jamell Mitchell Jr., Jacob Hall, and Justin Murray had two hits each as well as scoring one run. Isaiah Canty also had one hit and scored on a wild pitch.
Benedict trailed 3-0 in the top of the first inning. In the bottom of the second, Canty tripled to center field driving Murray home and then scoring on a wild pitch to close the gap to 3-2. Saint Rose pulled away in the sixth inning after driving in five runs to tak an 11-3 lead.
Benedict will host Edward Waters on Sunday at 2:30 pm in the first game of a conference series.
