TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The eighth-ranked Benedict College Tigers shot 55.2 percent from the floor and made 15 3-pointers to roll over Tuskegee 96-73 in a SIAC men's basketball contest on Saturday.
Asanti Price scored 19 points, making five 3-pointers, to lead the undefeated Tigers, now 12-0 overall and 7-0 in the SIAC. Tuskegee falls to 3-11 overall and 2-6 in the SIAC.
Price was one of five Benedict players in double figures.
Tim Moore scored 18 points, while
Brandon Smith scored 15 points,
Marshaun West had 14 points and
Gob Gabriel chipped in 10 points.
Tuskegee scored the first five points of the game, but Benedict took the lead for good on a
Brandon Beidleman jumper with 16:59 left in the first half. The Tigers had a 15-point lead, 44-29, at the half.
Benedict built as much as a 33-point lead, 92-59, after a 3-pointer by Gabriel with 3:27 left in the game.
The Tigers play at Claflin on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
