ALBANY, Ga. – Albany completed a series sweep over the Benedict College Tigers with a 21-3 victory on Sunday in SIAC baseball action.
Jose Gil had a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning to tie the game at 1-1. Albany State got a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth inning for a 3-1 lead.
The Golden Rams pulled away in the fifth inning, scoring eight runs on six hits, one Benedict error, four wild pitches and one hit batsman. Albany State scored 10 runs in the sixth inning on five hits, one Benedict error and three hit batsmen for a 21-1 lead.

Jamell Mitchell Jr. had RBI singles in the seventh inning.
Albany State improves to 28-9 overall and 25-2 in the SIAC. Benedict falls to 12-19 overall and 10-17 in the SIAC.
Benedict plays a non-conference game against Paine College on Tuesday at 1 p.m., before traveling to Edward Waters for a three-game SIAC series next weekend.
