COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Tigers rallied from a 5-0 deficit to beat Clark Atlanta 8-6 in the final game of their SIAC baseball series on Sunday afternoon at Tiger Field.
Clark Atlanta took a 5-0 lead after two innings. The Tigers tied the game with three runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth.
Jalen McDuffie drove in two runs with a double in the fifth inning, and
Justin Murray tied the game by driving in a run on a groundout in the sixth.
The Panthers took a 6-5 lead in the top of the seventh, but the Tigers pushed three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Kent Johnson had an RBI single and Murray brought home another run with a double.
Taj Bates drove in three runs.
Gerson Vidal Cordero came on in relief to earn the win, going 6 2/3 innings and allowing three hits and one run.
The Tigers, now 12-16 overall and 10-14 in the SIAC, travel to take on Albany State next weekend in a three-game conference series.
