ALBANY, Ga. – The Benedict College Tigers trailed by as many as 20 points in the first half before mounting a late rally that came up short, as Albany State held on for a 68-60 victory in a SIAC men's basketball game on Saturday.
Albany State had a 33-13 lead with 4:24 remaining in the first half and led 33-17 at the half. The Golden Rams had a 61-44 lead with 5:32 left in the game before the Tigers scored seven unanswered points to cut the advantage to just six points, 61-55, with 2:10 remaining in the game.

Tony Webb Jr. got the Tigers to within four points, 64-60, with 35 seconds left. Albany State sealed the game with four free throws in the final 20 seconds.
Tariq Shepherd led the Tigers with 14 points, while Web came off the bench to score 13 points and
Caleb Hymon chipped in 12 points.
Benedict is at Fort Valley State on Tuesday night.
