SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Benedict College Tigers snapped Savannah State's six-game winning streak with an 8-2 victory in the first game of their doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
Savannah State took the second game 7-3.
Benedict took a 3-0 lead before Savannah State cut the lead to 3-2.
Juan Guardado hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to give Benedict a 5-2 lead.

Brailin Duran went the distance on the mound to pick up the win, scattering seven hits, struck out five and walked one.
In the second game, Benedict struck first on an RBI double in the first inning by Guardado. Savannah State scored two runs in the second and two more in the third for a 4-1 lead, then added three more runs in the sixth for a 7-1 lead. Guardado had an RBI double and
Cameron Haley had an RBI single in the seventh.
Benedict (8-7 overall, 6-7 in the SIAC) and Savannah State (12-6, 11-3) will meet again on Sunday at 10 a.m. for the third game of their series.
