JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Benedict College softball team was held to three hits as Edward Waters took a 9-1 victory on Saturday.
Taylor Gilbert had a double, and
Jaiara Ruffin and
Cayla Crooks each had a single for Benedict's three hits.
Taylor Chambliss hit a bases-loaded fielder's choice to drive in Benedict's only run of the game.
Edward Waters (20-18, 20-6 SIAC) opened the game with a pair of runs in the first inning, then scored three runs in the fourth inning, then closed out the game with four runs in the fifth inning.
Benedict falls to 12-14 overall and 7-11 in the SIAC. The Lady Tigers return to action with a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday at Tiger Field starting at 1 p.m.
