COLUMBIA, S.C. – Paine College swept a non-conference softball doubleheader over Benedict College on Wednesday at Tiger Field.
Paine pounded out 16 hits to beat the Lady Tigers 15-1 in five innings in the first game. Paine took advantage of three Benedict errors to take a 6-5 victory in the second game.
Benedict falls to 12-16 on the season, while Paine improves to 8-16.

T'yannah Lake on a bunt single in the first game for Benedict's only run.
In the second game, Paine took a 3-0 lead in the second, but Benedict tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the second when
Tre'sor Eady blasted a three-run homer to left field.
Paine took a 5-3 lead in the third inning. Benedict cut the lead to 5-4 when Eady hit a bunt to score
Taylor Gilbert.
Taylor Chambliss was tagged out at home plate on a single by
Heaven Strickland.
The Lions added a run in the sixth inning. Eady had an RBI double. She was later tagged out at home with the potential tying run.
Benedict returns to action with a three-game SIAC series against Savannah State this weekend. They will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. and then a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
