COLUMBIA, S.C. – Albany State scored 11 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 23-0 victory in a SIAC softball contest on Saturday at Tiger Field.
Albany State scored seven runs before the first out of the game.
Benedict was held to three hits.
Cayla Crooks went 2-for-2, including a double.
Ariah Smith had the other hit.
Benedict (0-10 overall, 0-4 SIAC) and Albany State (11-2 overall, 1-0 SIAC) will play a doubleheader on Sunday, starting at 1 p.m.
