FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Benedict College Tigers wrapped up a series sweep over Kentucky State with a 13-7 victory on Sunday in SIAC baseball action.
Kent Johnson and
Kenyan Conner Jr. both had home runs on Sunday as the Tigers finished with 11 home runs over the three-game series.
The Thorobreds had a 4-2 lead after five innings. The Tigers took the lead with three runs in the fifth inning, and pulled away with four runs in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh.
Joshua Medina drove in four runs, and
Milton Herring went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Johnson went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, and
Jonathan Olmedo had three hits and drove in two runs.
Benedict improves to 8-3 overall with their eighth straight victory, and 6-3 in the SIAC. Kentucky State falls to 0-14 overall and 0-9 in the SIAC.
The Tigers will host Edward Waters in a three-game SIAC series at Tiger Field this weekend, with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon and a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
