COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's basketball team has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2026 Black College Invitational Championship.
 
The Lady Tigers, who went 17-9 overall, will compete against Virginia State on Friday, March 27 at the Virginia State Multipurpose Center in Ettrick, Va., at noon. The Trojans went 17-8 during the 2025-26 season after falling to Claflin in the quarterfinals of the CIAA Tournament.
 
Bowie State from the CIAA and Central State from the SIAC will face off in the other women's matchup on Friday.
 
The championship game will be played at noon on Saturday, March 28.
