COLUMBIA, S.C. – Clark Atlanta scored five runs in the third inning to take the lead and went on to take an 11-3 victory over Benedict College in a SIAC softball game on Friday afternoon at Tiger Field.
Clark Atlanta led off the first inning with a run, but Benedict scored two runs in the bottom of the first as
Cayla Crooks hit a two-run homer.
Clark Atlanta had four hits and took advantage of a Benedict error to score the five runs in the third inning.
The Lady Tigers cut the lead to 7-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by
Alexis Gatlin.
Clark Atlanta (8-11 overall, 1-6 SIAC) put the game away with four runs in the sixth inning.
Benedict falls to 2-13 overall, 1-7 in the SIAC.
Benedict and Clark Atlanta will wrap up their conference series with a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at noon at Tiger Field.
