ATLANTA, Ga. – The 21st-ranked Benedict College Tigers couldn't shake off a cold shooting night and were upset by the Clark Atlanta Panthers 71-54 Monday night in an SIAC men's basketball contest.
The Tigers made 22 of 59 shots for 37.3 percent from the floor. They made just five of 19 3-point attempts and hit five of 15 free-throw attempts.

Marcus Goode, the nation's leading scorer, was held to 13 points, about half of his average.
The Tigers fell to 3-2 overall, dropping their second straight game, but playing for the first time in nearly a month. Benedict fell to 2-1 in the SIAC.
Clark Atlanta took a 27-25 lead at the half after Logan Shoffner hit a 3-pointer. Benedict took a 36-35 lead in the second half on a jumper by
Branden Herring with 13:39 left in the game. The Panthers (2-6 overall, 2-2 SIAC) went on an 11-3 run to take a 47-38 lead. The Tigers cut the lead to 54-50 with 5:10 left in the game before the Panthers went on a 10-2 run for a 64-52 lead with 2:08 left.
The Panthers closed out the game by scoring the final seven points of the game.
Tydran Beaty added 11 points for the Tigers.
Benedict returns to action on Wednesday, traveling to Orangeburg to face rival Claflin.
