Box Score COLUMBIA, S.C. –
London Richardson scored 17 points and Benedict forced 29 turnovers as the Lady Tigers defeated LeMoyne-Owen College 58-45 on Monday night.
The game was played at Columbia College because Benedict's gymnasium was being used for registration.
The Lady Tigers improved to 2-1 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and 5-10 overall. LeMoyne-Owen fell to 0-3 in the SIAC and 2-11 overall.
Benedict broke open a close game by scoring 17 of the final 19 points of the first half to take a 36-18 lead at the break.
The Lady Tigers kept a double-digit lead the entire second half, building the lead to as much as 20 points with 2:09 to play on a layup by
Ashley Thompson. The Lady Magicians closed out the game by scoring the final seven points to close the lead to 13 for the final margin.
Brittany Jackson added 11 points for Benedict.
Miranda Abdul Mansour led LeMoyne-Owen with 18 points.
Benedict will be back in action on Thursday, hosting Lane College.
