Andrew Crawford hit seven 3-pointers as the Benedict Tigers pulled away in the second half to take a 76-63 victory over LeMoyne-Owen College in an SIAC contest on Tuesday night.
Crawford finished with 21 points for the Tigers, who improved to 8-3 overall and 3-0 in the SIAC.
Lamar Adkins had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Brennan Reynard added 11 points.
Benedict had a 34-32 lead at the half, but the Magicians tied the game at 34 on a jumper by Jerry Hampton to open the second half. The Tigers then went on a 13-3 run to take a 47-37 lead after a 3-pointer by
Lynden Davis with 16:48 left to play.
The Tigers increased the lead to as much as 17 points, 60-43, on a three-point play by Adkins. The Magicians cut the lead to 69-63 with 1:53 left to play, but the Tigers closed out the game with the final seven points.
Timothy Ware led LeMoyne-Owen with 14 points, while Jerry Hampton added 13. The Magicians fell to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the SIAC.
Benedict will continue its road trip with a game at Lane College on Thursday night.
