Lady Tigers Win Two Matches In SIAC Tennis Roundup

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's tennis team went 2-4 during the SIAC Tennis Roundup Tournament, hosted by Benedict.

The Lady Tigers opened the tournament with a 7-0 victory over LeMoyne-Owen. Benedict fell 5-1 to Clark Atlanta, 5-3 to Tuskegee and 6-1 to Fort Valley State. Benedict came back with a 6-1 victory over Albany State, before falling to Stillman 9-0 on Saturday.

Esther Zelaya went 3-1 at No. 1 singles for the Lady Tigers, while going 3-3 at No. 1 doubles with partner Glory Zhou.

Zhou was 3-1 in singles play. Keneisha Whittington was 3-2 in singles play, while Belinda Camacho was 2-3. The pair of Whittington and Camacho was 3-3 in doubles action.

The Lady Tigers are now 3-6 on the season. They will play at Coker College in Hartsville on Tuesday.
