COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's tennis team opened the SIAC Roundup Tournament with a pair of victories over Spring Hill College and Fort Valley State University.

The Lady Tigers opened the roundup with a 6-1 victory over Spring Hill, then claimed a 9-0 victory over Fort Valley State. Benedict improves to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the SIAC.

Against Spring Hill, Benedict opened with two wins in doubles action, then won all four singles matches that finished. Against Fort Valley State, the Lady Tigers won two doubles matches and picked up a forfeit win against the shorthanded Lady Wildcats. In singles action, Benedict earned four more victories on the court and two forfeit wins.

Benedict takes on LeMoyne-Owen at 8:30 a.m. at the Columbia Tennis Center, followed by a match against Clark Atlanta at 1 p.m.
