SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Benedict College women's tennis team earned their second straight victory to start the 2017 season by defeating Converse College 6-3 on Sunday.

Benedict jumped out to a 3-0 by sweeping all three doubles matches.

At No.2 singles, Victoria Izakova won her first ever singles match for the Lady Tigers with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Alex Schlessener. Adrienne Milow clinched the match with the fifth point with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Abby Roth at No. 6 singles. Danyelle Copeland gave Benedict another point with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Taylor Parrot.

Benedict is back in action on Tuesday, hosting Augusta University at 2 p.m. at Southeast Park.
