COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's tennis team wrapped up the regular season with an 8-0 victory over Winston-Salem State on Thursday at Southeast Tennis Center.
Benedict swept all three doubles matches for an early 3-0 lead. The Lady Tigers took five of the six singles matches, with the No. 1 singles match unfinished. Carolina Nguy improved to 8-1 on the season with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles. Daniella Rios won her eighth match in a row with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles.
Benedict improves to 17-5 on the season.
The Lady Tigers, the defending SIAC women's tennis champions, will compete in the 2017 SIAC Championship Tournament on April 18 and 19 at the Peachtree Tennis Center in Peachtree, Ga.
