Lady Tigers Ranked 8th In South Region

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers fell to No. 8 in the DII South Region poll.

The Lady Tigers lost their only game last week, falling on a last-second shot to undefeated Newberry College. Benedict dropped from sixth to a tie for eighth.

The Lady Tigers beat Spring Hill on Monday night to improve to 8-3 overall, but that is not reflected in this week's poll. Benedict is off until Dec. 31.

The poll is voted on by a committee of Sports Information Directors from the South Region, which includes teams from the SIAC, Gulf South Conference, and Sunshine State Conference. Benedict is the only SIAC school in the poll, although Miles received votes for the second week in a row.

The Women's Basketball Division II Media Poll, sponsored by D2SIDA, is in its fourth year of existence. The regional poll will be released every Monday, followed by the national poll every Tuesday. Each region has six representatives that comprise the regional poll. The national poll has 16 voters - 2 from each region.
