CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Benedict College women's tennis team captured five of the six singles matches to take a 6-3 victory over Johnson C. Smith on Sunday afternoon.
Johnson C. Smith had a 2-1 lead after doubles play.
Karla Flores and
Viktoria Izakova picked up an 8-6 win at No. 2 for Benedict's only doubles win.
Caroline Nguy took a tough 7-6, 1-6, 10-4 victory at No. 1 singles.
Karla Flores cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2, and
Viktoria Izakova won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3.
Daniella Rios had no trouble at No. 4, taking a 6-1, 6-3 victory.Â
Adrienne Milow won by retirement at No. 6 singles.
Benedict, now 2-3 on the season, opens conference play on Thursday in the SIAC Tennis Roundup in Columbia.
