Lady Tigers Down Tuskegee, 7-2, In SIAC Women's Tennis Roundup

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's tennis team remained unbeaten in conference play with a 7-2 victory over a short-handed Tuskegee team on Saturday morning to wrap up the SIAC Tennis Roundup at the Columbia Tennis Center.

Tuskegee had just three players due to injuries and other issues, so they had to forfeit two doubles matches and three singles matches at the start. Benedict lost the No. 1 doubles match as Karla Flores and Viktoria Izakova dropped a 10-5 decision. In singles action, Caroline Nguy took a 10-7 victory at No. 1, while Daniella Rios claimed a 10-6 victory at No. 3.

Benedict improved to 9-3 overall and 7-0 in the SIAC.

The Lady Tigers return to action on Friday with a home match against Salem College.
