Box Score 4 MOBILE, Ala. – The Benedict College women's tennis team went undefeated at the second SIAC Tennis Roundup and finished the season with an undefeated conference record.
Benedict defeated LeMoyne-Owen, Albany State and Fort Valley State 9-0, while topping Lane 8-0 and Tuskegee 8-1. The Lady Tigers took a 5-4 victory over Clark Atlanta in the closest match of the roundup.
Benedict had a 2-1 lead after doubles play against Clark Atlanta.
Karla Flores took a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles, while
Daniella Rios picked up a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles. The Lady Tigers clinched the match when
Caroline Nguy rallied after dropping the first set 6-4 to win the second set 6-1 and then won the tiebreaker 10-2.
Benedict will next compete at the SIAC Championship April 16-17 in Peachtree City, Ga. The Lady Tigers are the two-time defending conference champions and will be the No. 1 seed in the tournament.
